The annual TMA Fall Conference will start one week from today. In addition to the usual Board, council, and committee meetings, TMA has lined up some very interesting speakers and seminar topics; specifically, the Saturday general session featuring Maggie Mahar, PhD, who authored Money Driven Medicine. The seminar is titled "Consumer-Directed vs. Patient-Centered Care "and will focus on how the current health care market is changing the perception of the physician by payors, drug companies, and most importantly, patients.
There will also be a professional development seminar on Saturday afternoon for medical students covering topics you need to know, but won't learn in medical school. This is a great way for students to prepare themselves to take that first brave step into the real world.
For more information and to sign up, please visit TMA's Fall Conference 2007 page. Registration is free for DCMS/TMA members and $125 for non-members.
