The Fight Against the Medicare Cut - Small Victory #1

The first small battle has been won! The Senate has passed legislation by unanimous consent that replaces the severe 10.1% cut in Medicare reimbursement with a 0.5% increase. However, this increase is only for 6 months. Also passing was legislation extending rural physician payment provisions and Medicare PQRI. Finally, the Senate voted to extend the SCHIP program through March 31, 2009.

Next step, the House. Stay tuned for more information.
